Imagine being rewarded every time someone else does wudu!
The Prophet Muhammad (saws) said: “Whoever sets a good precedent in Islam will have the reward for that and the reward for those who do it after him, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.”
A Special Mosque
The Ihsan Mosque in Norwich holds a special place in British Muslim history. Established in 1977, the Mosque is home to one of the longest-standing indigenous British Muslim communities in the UK. As the city’s Central Mosque, the Ihsan Mosque is home to a vibrant and diverse community. It hosts regular weekly classes, a children’s Quran Madrassah and a variety of community activities from weddings to Aqiqahs.
Every Jumua we welcome over 150 worshippers and in Ramadan the mosque is full of life – with a meal provided every evening for over 200 men, women and children. Furthermore, we have founded the ‘Norwich Free Market’, which has provided a free trading space based on the market ethics established by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). As a result, our mosque community was recently recognised by the Prime Minister as making an outstanding contribution to the city of Norwich.
Wudu – The Foundation of The Prayer
After over thirty years without a refurbishment, our wudu facilities are in a very poor condition and in urgent need of renovation.
The current wudu area is unacceptable for a mosque of this size and is not fit to serve the needs of the large number of people who use the mosque all year round.
Moving forward
Working with local architects we have created a plan that will ensure the very best facilities for the congregation of this important mosque.
Phase 1 of the plan will see the construction of a new purpose-built wudu area, providing a warm and spacious environment for those attending the mosque.
Phase 2 entails the construction of a first floor space, which will be used as a café/restaurant, providing a much needed source of income for the mosque.
We Need Your Support
Our primary target is to raise £100,000 to cover the cost of building a new, eco-friendly wudu area. Once this initial target has been reached, any additional funds raised will be used for Phase 2 of the project – the creation of a café/restaurant on the 1st floor above the new wudu area. This exciting new venture will help us to achieve two goals; firstly providing a source of income to cover the running costs of our mosque and secondly creating opportunities for da’wah in a new space where Muslims and non-Muslims can meet socially.
Help us to create a new, modern wudu facility, one which is eco-friendly and sustainable. One which will properly serve the growing number of Muslims in this city.
Contribute on your own behalf or that of a loved one and create a legacy of Sadiqah Jariyah which will continue to bring benefit even after death.
Please donate today and be rewarded for every person who does wudu in our mosque.
